Time Code — Initializing the System

In practice the master time is normally taken from the time code clock inside the Nagra IV-S T.C. recorder.

Transferring Data From the Nagra to the ORIGIN C Unit

  1. Verify that the Nagra is in dAtE Ub mode (see page 224).
  2. Put the Nagra into TEST mode.
  3. Switch the ORIGIN C unit ON, plug it into the Nagra recorder and press the “” key. The display should show In Control then Good. If not press the “” key again.
  4. Disconnect the ORIGIN C unit from the Nagra but do not switch it OFF.

Transferring Data From the ORIGIN C Unit to the Camera

  1. Check that power is connected to the camera.
  2. Plug the ORIGIN C into the camera unit socket and press the “” key.
  3. The display will read bAd....REIoAd? While REIoAd is displayed again press the “” key. The display should then read In Control or Good. If it does not then press the “” key again.
  4. Check the camera display to see that the code has been acquired and that the red LED is no longer flashing.
  5. Repeat the process for each camera making sure that the ORIGIN C unit has not been switched off meanwhile. Note: The ORIGIN C unit will automatically switch itself off after three minutes.
