Electronic Synchronizer Systems —
Camera to Projector Synchronizer
Operating Instructions

1. Set the camera shutter to its fully open position.
2. Connect the synchronizer to the film camera with the 10-pin LEMO cable supplied with the kit. The 10-pin connector on the Camera is located under a small gray plastic hatch. On the synchronizer the connector is labelled CAMERA.
3. Connect the sync cable from the projector shutter probe to the PROJECTOR IN socket on the rear of the synchronizer. (The PROJECTOR OUT connector is used when two or more cameras are synced to the same projector when a sync box is required for each camera).
4. If required, connect the audio pulse cable to the AUDIO SYNC SIGNAL socket and to the recorder.
5. The POWER light will come on when the battery is connected to the camera.
6. Switch the CAMERA DRIVE switch to PROJ. (When this switch is in CAMERA position, the camera runs independently of the projector).
7. Start the projector. The PROJ light will flash indicating that the shutter pulse is present.
8. Start the camera. The CAMERA light will flash. Initially the red SEARCH light will also light indicating that the camera is not yet at speed. After a few seconds the red light will go out and the green SYNC light will flash indicating that the camera is now up to speed and is in sync.
9. As a safety check, observe the projected image through the mirror shutter reflex viewfinder system of the camera. Its brightness should be minimal indicating that the maximum amount of light is being used to expose the film.

Note: It makes no difference if the camera or the projector is started first.

It is important to check that the green SYNC light continues to flash steadily during a take and that the red light does not come on. Should this not be the case it is probable that a malfunction has occurred.
