The PANATATE TURNOVER MOUNT

PANATATE TURNOVER MOUNT enables the camera to be turned sideways or upside down, or even rotated, about the optical axis during a take.

The camera attachment unit incorporates a PANANODE NODAL ADAPTOR for fine height and sideways adjustment and the entire unit may be slid longitudinally on the PANAHEAD to make three dimensional nodal positioning possible, making it an ideal instrument with which to photograph miniatures.

The unit is fitted with a regular PANAHEAD three-speed gearbox and handwheel. The handwheel may be interchanged with a PANAREMOTE actuator unit for remote control.

Camera Operators may find it easier to operate this unit with the aid of a PANAVID VIDEO ASSIST system, with a small monitor set on the unit, rather than try to look through the camera viewfinder as the camera is rotated.

The PANATATE system can also be used with a 65mm camera.

Fitting a Camera to a Panatate Turnover Mount

When fitting a PANAFLEX or PANASTAR camera to the PANATATE TURNOVER MOUNT the film magazine must be fitted in the rear position.

The camera battery, control and video cables should be arranged so as to leave the unit from directly behind the camera and not allowed to wrap around the camera as it is rotated.

Balancing weights may be placed around the turnover ring to balance the camera radially, making it easier to turn the camera through 360° and control it. Other weights may be fitted to the front of the unit to counterbalance the mass when it is moved rearwards on the head to nodally align the entrance pupil of the lens with the center of the pan and tilt axes.
