Even after assigning the layers containing lineweight and transparency to objects, sometimes you will not see any of these settings taking effect in the drawing. This happens when the lineweight and transparency status bar options are not active:

To make these properties visible in the drawing, activate the lineweight and transparency status bar options from the status bar as shown in the preceding figure.
