While you may have already created a book and saved it, this does not mean you can’t build on that book. Family Tree Maker allows you to add additional reports at a later date to any previously saved book.
You can incorporate Save View As reports into any book at any time. Once you have created them, they are available in any Books view, new or previously saved.
NOTE
NOTE
The previously saved reports will always appear at the bottom of the Available items list.
NOTE
NOTE
At this point, the saved report can be repositioned or edited like the other items in the Outline for list.
When a book is first created, it relies on the reports of the selected individual. Once a book has been saved, though, you can add additional reports about other people, giving you a lot of flexibility in your book and its layout.
NOTE
TIP
If you click on the selected item in the Outline for list, you can use the various buttons to reposition the item, edit it, or change its properties. It is now a part of the book unless you elect to delete it.
NOTE
NOTE
Notice that while you changed the focus of the individual in the Available items list, your saved reports are still available.
You have not only been introduced to Family Tree Maker, but you have been shown many of the advanced features and some tricks to get the most out of the program. Sharing your genealogy online or in print is limited only by your own possibilities. Happy ancestor hunting!
