Changing the Date Format

As mentioned earlier, Family Tree Maker’s default for dates does not coincide with the standard followed in the genealogical community. However, this is easy enough to change.

NOTE

The standard for dates in genealogy is the day followed by the first three letters of the month and then the four digit year.

NOTE

TIP

Similar drop-down lists are available for changing the separator between the day, month, and year, and also for the format of the number of each day.
