Using the Research Journal

The Research Journal offers a means for tracking your past research and for making notes on future research.

Creating a New To-Do Item

The Research Journal allows you to record a list of items that still need to be accomplished in your research. By using the Research Journal, you no longer need to remember these items, just simply look at your to-do list before your next research trip.

Viewing Done or Not Done Items

The Research Journal is your road map of the research you have done and the research that still must be accomplished. There will be times when you will want to see it all, and other times when you will want to see only what you have done or what is left to do.

Viewing Items for a Certain To-Do Category

Another way to affect the format of the Research Journal is through the To-Do categories. Usually based on resources or repositories, the To-Do categories allow you to narrow the focus of the report to just those entries for the selected category or categories.

NOTE

TIP

If you want to delete a To-Do item that you have created, you can do so by clicking on the item so that it is highlighted and then pressing the Delete key.
