So far this book has covered a lot of different components of a game, and we’re almost ready to create our first fully functional game. Based on what you’ve learned so far, you could probably even create your first game on your own right now. There are a few key areas, however, that will help make your games look and play better, and I will cover them in this chapter. Think of this chapter as a potluck of different game elements that will improve your 3D game programming skills.
Here we will add on to some of the concepts you learned earlier by covering certain details and concepts that you weren’t quite ready for until now.
In this chapter, I’m not going to provide the completed programs for you: I’m going to provide a skeleton of a program and ask you to type in specific commands to see what happens on the demos. That way, you’ll actually get to program yourself!
