There are hundreds of ERPs, and they all focus on different aspects of e-commerce. Some are really good at accounting, some at shipping, and some at managing customers and tracking all data related to the customer.
I tend to value the following two aspects:
- Product information and inventory
- Accounting and purchase orders
If you can tie these two parts of an e-commerce business, it will really help you manage your cash flow and make you more profitable. If you are a marketing wiz, you might want to put all customer information in one place, which can be really useful for maximizing repeat sales and reacquiring customers, both helping your bottom line. And while this is important, I hate drowning in paperwork and misplacing a $1,000 purchase order that wasn't logged in the right place and was never delivered as it had been forgotten about.
Here are just a couple of solutions that I found in my research:
- Tradegecko (https://www.tradegecko.com/)
- Dear Systems (https://dearsystems.com/)
- WP ERP (https://wperp.com/)
We're going to look into Dear Systems since their software pretty easy to use. You may want to do your own research to find the best ERP system for your business and set it up. The steps for setting up your ERP should be similar to what we're going to do.
