You might notice that not every widget shows up. For example, where are the product attributes?

Widgets in WordPress are pretty smart and they only show up if they're relevant. If none of your products have attributes, then you won't see the attribute filtering widget. The same thing happens with product reviews: if there are no recent reviews, then there's nothing to display.

Let's add some product attributes, such as color, to our store. You can read Chapter 2, Configuring Products, to see how to add global product attributes. Once you do, you can see them in the sidebar and then you can click them and start filtering the products.

Once you have a global product attribute, you can customize your Filter Products by Attribute widget:

You need to select one attribute. In our case, that's going to be color. But if you have multiple attributes such as color, size, and cut, you can add multiple Filter Products by Attribute widgets.
