Troubleshooting

Some Files Not Updated

Q1:I published my Web site to another host, but some files were not updated.
A1: It's possible that some files were updated on the destination Web server, and when you published your Web site, FrontPage decided not to update those files because they had more recent timestamps. In Reports view, use the Publish Status report to identify the pages that should not be published again, and choose File, Publish Web. This time, choose the Publish All Pages option to force the update of the files even though they have older timestamps than those on the server.

Broken Links After Publishing

Q1:I moved my Web site from one Web host to another, and now some links are broken.
A1: Sometimes page authors enter the full URL to other pages within the same Web site. When you move the Web site to another host, these links can still point to the original location. Use the Broken Hyperlinks report to identify the links and make repairs.

Creating Subwebs

Q1:I cannot create a subweb in my offline Web site.
A1: FrontPage enables you to create subwebs only when online with the Office Server Extensions. As a workaround, create a separate folder on your local disk or network share, and create your new Web site there.
