Here’s a partial list of questions designed to encourage, to develop confidence, to acknowledge
effort. Use them in response to responses given by participants.

“Has anyone ever told you that you have a real aptitude for this?”
“Did you know you could be making money on the side with the sense of humor you possess?”
Brainteaser:
A clothes dryer is filled with 22 red socks and 39 blue ones. If you pulled out
one sock at a time without looking, how many would you have to remove before you could be
certain you had a matched pair?

Post your most challenging questions around the room. Ask groups to select the question they
feel they have the most collective knowledge about. Have them work on their group response
for a written or oral presentation. Then grade their efforts.
Brainteaser:
(Note: This problem should be done first by individuals and then by members

paper and turn it in to the instructor. When the rest of the class has also done this, then work on
