This possibility is a tad threatening—for you! Give participants the option: They can either say,
“We decline to make a report because we came up with nothing worth repeating” or “We’ve
learned something really interesting. Here’s what it is.”
If you are brave enough to face the possibly of a roomful of non-reports, this option can be fun
and critical-thinking-sharpening.
Brainteaser:

The founder of National Cash Register, John H. Patterson, researched the mind’s receptivity.
He learned that the optic nerve is 22 times stronger than the nerves that control our hearing.
How did he use this knowledge? He used visuals to sell cash registers at the company’s new
showroom in Paris—even though he spoke not a word of French! Was he successful? So much
so that he was able to get a lucrative foothold in the European market.
The challenge for your participants? Present their report without uttering a single word.
