The raster moves up so the menu bar is no longer visible. Use the following procedure to replace the IVAD (Integrated Voltage Analog Data) cable:
1. | Remove the rear housing from the eMac. |
2. | Discharge the CRT. NOTE Warning: The eMac contains high voltage and a high-vacuum picture tube. To prevent injury, follow the discharge instructions in Lesson 10, “Cathode-Ray Tubes.” |

6. | Locate the other end of the IVAD cable. |
7. | With a nylon probe tool or needlenose pliers, remove the glue from the cable connector. |
8. | |
9. | Install the replacement IVAD cable. |
10. | Replace the cable tie (shown in the previous photo). |
11. | Place hot glue on each end of the IVAD connector. |
12. | Reassemble the computer and test the system. |
