The PowerBook line was designed to support the serious mobile professional. The latest PowerBook G4 models come standard with both AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0 wireless networking, plus 512 MB of memory.
This lesson explains how to install additional RAM to increase overall system performance. We focus on the PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz) model, pointing out notable exceptions for other models as necessary.
Servicing a PowerBook requires a deft touch since it is comprised of many small, expensive components arranged carefully in a compact form factor. As such, always exercise care and do not exert too much pressure when disassembling a PowerBook.
