Time | This lesson takes approximately 1 hour to complete. |
Goals | Install additional memory in a Mac mini |
Install an AirPort Extreme & Bluetooth Upgrade Kit in a Mac mini |
The Mac mini line of consumer desktop computers is not designed with any parts for installation by end users. Options like additional RAM, AirPort Extreme, and Bluetooth must be either ordered as Configure-To-Order (CTO) options at the time of purchase, or installed by an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Apple retail store after purchase.
This lesson explains how AASPs can open a Mac mini. It then gives detailed instructions for installing additional RAM to increase overall system performance. Finally, you'll see how to install an AirPort Extreme Card and Bluetooth card to add wireless connectivity.
These procedures are intended to be followed by AASPs only. If an end user opens a Mac mini and any damage to the unit results, the repair of such damage will not be covered under Apple's warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan.
