Goals | Remove a modem board from a Mac mini |
In the previous lesson, you learned how to install memory and an AirPort Extreme Card in a Mac mini. In this lesson, you're going to dig deeper into the Mac mini, taking apart all the components necessary to remove a faulty modem board—one of several possible causes of a modem that fails to produce a dial tone (see Lesson 24, “Trouble s hooting a Mac mini”).
In the interest of conserving space, reassembly instructions are not reproduced on these pages but are included in the service manual on the accompanying CD (AASPs should download and refer to the latest service manual from AppleCare Service Source before servicing any Apple product). Practice Take Apart and reassembly at your own speed until you feel confident that you can replace any Mac mini component with skill and efficiency. Be sure to remove and replace the components in the given sequence.
