2 tbsp gluten-free tamari or reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp molasses
8oz (225g) tempeh, sliced into 24 thin slices
1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the tamari, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ketchup, and molasses. Add the tempeh and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight in the fridge.
2. Set the air fryer temp to 180°F. Spray the fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Pat the tempeh dry with paper towels. Place in the fryer basket and cook until brown and slightly crispy, about 45 minutes.
4. Transfer the jerky to a platter and allow to cool completely before serving.
TIP Store the jerky in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
TIP For some extra smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke.
