HoloLens has great support for connecting with external subsystems. The following are types of connectivity provided by the HoloLens:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Micro USB
  • Audio Jack

HoloLens supports of both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to connect with any external system over a network and by pairing. Connecting HoloLens to a Wi-Fi network or with a Bluetooth device is similar to connecting any other Windows 10 devices. HoloLens provides a easy and quick way to pair with Bluetooth device, and the most common Bluetooth accessories used with HoloLens are the HoloLens Clicker and Bluetooth keyboards.

The Micro USB is used to charge the device using the external power adapter and as well as to connect the HoloLens physically with any PC if you want to plugin and deploy your app directly.

Using the Audio Jack, you can plug in the headphones and the Microsoft HoloLens will seamlessly transfer the sound to the headphone.
