Spatial Audio

Spatial Audio expands the HoloLens MR experience beyond the visual senses. By taking advantages of the spatial audio, a developer can greatly experiment the MR world of HoloLens. Holograms are virtual objects; they can appear from any direction in the scene whereas HoloLens has only field of view in the front. If you are looking at your front, and there are some holograms that are coming toward you from the back, then a floating sound from the back can add to the experience and make it more real. With Spatial Sound, sounds can come from any direction and create a 360 degree of holograms representation.

HoloLens uses head related transfer function (HRTF) to bring the 3D floating sound using the direction and distance of the objects. This makes MR environments more realistic. Spatial Audio capabilities with HoloLens provide the developer with a lot of capabilities.

Spatial Sound greatly enhances the HoloLens user experience by making our imaginary world more complete.
