Getting Help with Screen Elements
If you wonder about the function of a particular button or tool on the screen, wonder no more. Just follow these steps to find out what it does:
Press Shift+F1, or open the Help menu and select What's This? The mouse pointer changes to a question mark.
With the question mark pointer, click on the screen element for which you want help. A box appears explaining the element.
If you need help with an element in a dialog box, click the Help button at the end of the title bar. (It looks like a big question mark.) Point to an element and click, and you'll get instant help.
In this lesson, you learned about the many forms of help that Excel offers. In the next lesson, you'll learn to enter various types of data into your Excel worksheet.
