“Oh, my gosh! I just had an amazing mental image,”
said Eliza. “Seeing you guys hug reminds me that on
the cover of Hiscock’s Coyote and Badger: there’s
the illustration of when the two animals touched
noses together at the point that they decided to hunt
together. That’s what’s happening here—you guys are
metaphorically touching noses together in order to
hunt for prey!”
Claire and Dave shook their heads in mock disbelief.
“Gross!” said Claire.
“Really, Eliza? Again, with the badger and the coy-
ote?” Dave teased. “You really are a piece of work,
Boss. Hey, that’s going to be my golden nugget: when
in doubt, ask yourself, ‘What would Eliza do?’”
“Forget that,” said Claire. “Mine’s going to be: when
in doubt, ask yourself, ‘What would the badger and the
coyote do?’”
