Learn From Others’ Experiences

If you are inexperienced at decision making, observe and learn from others. Watch how they go about the process of making decisions, and watch the results and outcomes.

If you have some experience yourself, but need help, rely on more experienced or other managers to share their experiences with you.

There are few problems, challenges, or opportunities that have not happened in some way in the past. That means there are people out there who have experience with them. Try to tap into that experience and learn from it.

One way to do that is to have a couple of good professional mentors available to talk to when you face key decisions.

Assignment

Keep mentors and other experienced decision makers available for counsel.
