must use specific parameters when building a spray booth.
Personal Protection Equipment Safety
Employers are required to protect employees from hazards. Employers are
required to provide personal protection equipment (PPE), or safety gear that
helps installers stay safe while installing PV systems. PPE safeguards against
potential incidents such as falling objects, harmful substances touching the body,
and loud noises. Examples of PPE include safety glasses, goggles, hardhats, safety
shoes, gloves, earplugs, and earmuffs.
Employers are responsible for assessing the workplace for hazards. They must
provide PPE and PPE training. Employers are also in charge of instructing
employees in its proper use. Examples of PPE include:
1926.95—PPE criteria: Employers must provide and maintain PPE in
sanitary and reliable conditions.
1926.96—Foot protection: Employers must ensure that all employees use
safety-toe footwear, according to the American National Standard for Mens
Safety-Toe Footwear, Z41.1-1967.
1926.100—Head protection: Employers must ensure that the correct head
protection is used on the job site.
Class A general service hardhats are suitable for construction.
Class B hardhats are intended for electrical and utility work.
Class C hardhats offer limited protection and do not protect against
falling objects or electrical shock.
1926.101—Hearing protection: Employers must provide ear protective
devices for all employees.
1926.102—Eye and face protection: Employers must supply different types
of safety glasses and face shields for eye and face protection based on the
potential job site hazards.
1926.103—Breathing protection: Employers must provide a respirator to
each employee when such equipment is necessary to protect the
employee’s health.
1926.104—Safety belts and other supports: Employers must stick to safety
precautions when using safety belts, such as those capable of supporting at
least 5,400 pounds with hardware made of forged cadmium and lanyard
made with at least half-inch nylon.
1926.105—Safety nets: Employers must provide safety nets when
workplaces are more than 25 feet above the ground or water surface,
