Chapter 22. HANDLING MULTIUSER SITUATIONS

IN THIS CHAPTER

You can take Microsoft Access out of the shrink-wrap, place it on a file server, and use it in a multiuser environment with very little programming. However, for a more efficient and robust application, more work is required.

Although you can place a single Access database that uses standard bound forms and programming on a network, it isn't necessarily recommended. Situations can occur in which performance decreases, and users can become frustrated because locking conflicts happen. A little information and minor programming can remedy this.
