Does the dream excite you? Do you feel fear,
shame, or embarrassment? Was it a replay of a
program you had watched in reality, maybe
earlier that night? Did you feel involved in
some way, or were you just watching? Note
your reactions when you wake up and
compare them with your felt sense.
Action Sexual feelings are easily stimulated,
and a dream following a screen drama is
normal. If the sexual scene came out of the
blue, reect on the feelings it has
engendered: shame and embarrassment
could suggest you are still shy about sex.
Notice how your dream neatly placed you at
a safe distance from the erotic action and
determine to face those fears.
YOU ARE ONE STEP
REMOVED FROM DANGER
The dream shows sexual activity going on and
it’s wildly over-the-top pornographic. You feel
lucky not to be involved (too racy!) but glad to
be witnessing it all. You enjoy being there and
have no sense of shame. You resent the dream
ending when you wake.
Action This is one step removed from you
being engaged in sexual activity and is
without involvement. You have enjoyed
plenty of sexual thrills without really being
present. This is the stu of voyeurism. Realize
you need to move on and become involved
at least in some sexual activity. It doesn’t
have to be raucous.
