ANIMALS
DOMESTIC
ANIMALS
Animals in our dreams sometimes
represent themselves, or they can
indicate an aspect of ourselves. For
example, a horse reects power and
sexuality, while a mouse reects our
shyness. Domestic animals were tamed
from the wild: we can learn from
dreams about them what has been
tamed in ourselves—or needs to be.
YOU TRY TO PROTECT
YOUR PET
You are going for a walk in the dream with your
pet. A loud noise frightens you both, and
instinctively you reach out to protect your pet. But
the animal—just as instinctively—is frightened for
its life and ees in an act of primitive
self-protection. You wake regretful that you didn’t
respect your pet’s ability to take care of itself.
Action Instinct overruled precaution here. Bear
in mind that a domestic animal carries survival
genes despite its adaptation. Can you own the
instinctual creature in you—the part not wanting
to be protected unnecessarily? Be proud of your
independent spirit and don’t let others squash it.
RABBITS ARE OVERRUNNING
YOUR HOUSE
Pet rabbits have come into the house. At rst,
you are entertained by their antics and feel
aection for the uy little creatures. You then
notice one doe has given birth to a litter of
kittens; you enjoy the spectacle. But now there’s
a birth explosion—other doe rabbits have kittens
as well. Instead of feeling indulgent, you get
angry and start to pick up armfuls of rabbits to
put them back outdoors where they live.
Action What are you doing in life that keeps
doubling in number? Is spending money
getting out of hand—are your debts, with
increasing interest, mirroring those dozens of
pet rabbits? If so, take this dream seriously. It
started harmlessly enough and was even
entertaining; then it got out of hand, escalating
to the point of you being overwhelmed by the
burden. Work on reining in your habit.
