Outlook 2007 introduces its own Instant Search feature that will help you quickly locate items in Outlook, such as e-mail messages from specific senders. For example, in the Inbox folder, you can click in the search box, type a word or phrase, and Outlook quickly (but not quite instantly) displays the results of the search. You don’t have to wait for the search to finish before you can open an item located in the search—just double-click the item to open it.
Outlook immediately begins searching for and displaying the results of the search.
Click in the search box and type a new word or phrase to perform another search.
Choose a previous search from the cascading menu to view the results of that search.
Click the Show Instant Search Pane Menu button again, and choose Search Options from the cascading menu.
Click Change to open a Color dialog box you can use to set the color for highlighted search words.
Specify whether you want to search the current folder only or all folders.
The Query Builder lets you specify additional search parameters to locate items. The contents of the Query Builder change according to the folder in which you are working. For example, the search criteria in the Inbox are different from the criteria in the Calendar folder.
