Instant Search

Outlook 2007 introduces its own Instant Search feature that will help you quickly locate items in Outlook, such as e-mail messages from specific senders. For example, in the Inbox folder, you can click in the search box, type a word or phrase, and Outlook quickly (but not quite instantly) displays the results of the search. You don’t have to wait for the search to finish before you can open an item located in the search—just double-click the item to open it.

  1. Click the Mail icon to open the Inbox.

  2. Click in the search box and type a search word or phrase.

  3. Outlook immediately begins searching for and displaying the results of the search.

  4. Click the Clear Search button to clear the search results.
