You can add Outlook items, application and document objects, and files to a contact by using the Item command on the Insert menu. For example, you can add an e-mail message to a contact for future reference, insert an attachment, or insert a Microsoft Excel worksheet. This enables you to access these items from the contact card. You can add a new, empty item and then modify it right in the Outlook item, or you can insert an existing document.
Click the Outlook folder in which the item you want to insert is located.
Select an item in the Items list.
Select the format of the item: Text Only, Attachment, or Shortcut.
Click OK to insert the item into the contact address card.
The item now appears with the contact.
Click the Contact tab on the ribbon, and click Save & Close.
Add a File
Open a contact, and click the Insert tab on the ribbon.
Click the paperclip icon.
Select the folder in which the file you want to insert is located.
Select the file you want to insert.
Click Insert.
The file now appears with the contact.
Click the Contact tab on the ribbon, and click Save & Close.
Try This!
To remove a file from a contact, click the file and press Delete.
Tip
After you insert a file into a contact’s card, you can open it to view, edit, or print it. To do this, double-click the file’s icon in the address card to launch the file within its associated application.
Caution
As you add items, files, and objects to a contact, the size of that contact card increases. When you add several items, files, or objects to a contact, it takes longer for Outlook to open the card. You should limit the number of attachments you add to a contact.
