Summary

This chapter focused on Windows XP. Although the operating system has been out for many years, it is still very popular in many workplaces and homes. We looked at the various features of Windows XP, some that exist in other versions of Windows and some that are unique to this operating system. The latter category includes Add or Remove Programs, Network Connections, Printers And Faxes, Automatic Updates, and Network Setup Wizard.

We also looked at the installation process, for both a clean installation and an upgrade, and we looked at Administrative Tools. Among the Administrative Tools for this operating system discussed were Users And Groups, Local Security Policy, System Configuration, Component Services, Data Sources, and Windows Firewall.
