Discovering Why Google+ Is So Great

Unless you’ve been living on a technology-free desert island for the last 15 years, you’ve almost certainly heard about Google.

The famously playful company created the world’s first truly useful search engine, cataloging and ranking the web (now over a trillion pages). Chances are that whenever you want to find something online, you Google it.

People are migrating to Google+ from other social networking services, such as Facebook and Twitter, or at least integrating it with their other social networking sites. While Facebook still has the edge in raw numbers (over 800 million active users), Google+ is getting bigger by the day. Unofficial Google+ statistician Paul Allen has predicted Google+ will have over 400 million users by the end of 2012.

Google+ offers so many advantages over other social networking services that it’s hard to sum them up (although I cover them all throughout the book). It offers a refreshing change from other social networking sites with its range of new features, such as Circles, Hangouts, and Ripples, alongside integration with other Google services. It’s also an amazing way to hook up and chat with groups of friends.

If you haven’t signed up for Google+ yet, it’s time to check out this new service. In this book I take you through all the features so you can make the most of this popular social networking site.
