Configure Service Application Connections
The Service Application Connections settings, shown in Figure 2.11, allow you to associate your new web application to existing service applications. In other words, this web application can call into and consume these services, such as Search. Service applications are covered in Chapter 4, “Creating Service Applications.”

To set up service application connections, follow these steps:
1. In the list labeled “Edit the following group of connections,” select a preconfigured group or Custom.
2. If you choose Custom, select each of the service applications you want to associate. You can change these associations at any time by going to Central Administration, click Application Management and then choose Configure Service Application Associations.
