On the right hand page is a collection of stylized diagrams.
The root shape is the same, but the scale, surface, lighting, and
texture differ for each one. Each diagram has its own personal-
ity. The diagrams would look ridiculous if they were put into
the same presentation file together.
Now that presentation applications have built-in 3D capability
and lighting effects, be aware of choosing styles that work well
together in the same scene.
Making Diagrams Consistent
Standardize on one texture, light source, or pattern unless the
concept you’re communicating needs more. Do not use clip art,
ever. Hire a local illustrator to build a set of key images that you
can use that map to your story.
Buying illustrations online is priced reasonably, but select illus-
trations and diagrams that look like they were all created by
the same illustrator.
