Distribution groups are used to create named lists of one or more users, often testers or alpha users, that install the application through an invitation, rather than via the app store. Distribution groups can be found in the left-hand menu, under Groups:

Here, a new group can be added, as follows:

1. Navigate to Distribution groups using the menu on the left.
2. Click the blue button labeled with a plus (+) sign (hidden under the popup in the preceding screenshot).
3. Choose a name for the group.
4. Add one or more members.
5. Save the new group.

Once a distribution group has been created, it can be used for publishing releases, which we will discuss in the next section.
