Runbooks

A number of types of runbooks are supported: PowerShell, Python 2, and graphical. The first two allow for writing scripts to be written in the specified language. Graphical runbooks allow for composing a runbook from all uploaded PowerShell modules, assets, and existing runbooks using drag and drop.

In addition to these three basic types of runbooks, there are PowerShell workflow and graphical workflow types available. The difference between a regular runbook and a workflow runbook is that workflow runbooks also support parallelism. Another benefit of PowerShell workflow is that it supports the use of checkpoints, which allow a script to be resumed if it encounters an exception mid-execution.
