There have been fundamental changes in the application's release process which demands new tooling that can keep up with it. The first change is in the rise of containers and microservices. The old-style tooling cannot keep up with these scale and changes, and they fail over. CD and DevOps are being adopted in larger enterprises, so engineering teams are now pushing code to production many times per day, thus driving the need for continuous monitoring. DevOps is mainstream, even though the tools that the operations teams use are still fragmented and consequentially slowing down troubleshooting services.
