There will be major efforts involved for operations teams in creating new VMs, as well as deploying applications manually with the risk of human error. We have to move the entire infrastructure to the private cloud and automate end-to-end processes to improve the resolution time of the operations team.

The operations team utilized the VMware internal private cloud that's powered by the vRealize suite to provide IaaS, including compute, storage, and networking resources for delivering all applications on top of these services. They are able to achieve fully automated management functionalities to control their application development life cycle process. The vRealize solution is extensible and can leverage automation scripts to integrate third-party tools such as load balancers, monitoring agents, and code repositories.

Previously, developers used to call the operations team for new application entities and would take weeks of provisioning, but now developers and testers can get a new, or manage their, application landscape with a self-service portal to customize their requirements. After the environment has been provisioned and tested, developers will get a link for their application entities with login details and a web console that's used to monitor the different metrics of the environment. They will now get fully operated and tested services in a few hours.
