Service owners are responsible for the overall service definition and the delivery of the following cloud service offerings:
- Gathers together all necessary stakeholders in IT to define the service scope, objectives, SLA, and so on upon the customer's new service requirement
- Manages development and enhancement efforts and works with cloud service architects
- Improves the services as well as expanding the demand due to an overarching vision of the service
- Continuous monitoring and reports on service-level attainment for their cloud service offerings
- Defines KPIs and reporting, which is necessary to manage the live services
- Maintains an active dialog with customers regarding service performance to anticipate and take required actions
- Responsible for service desk training to put the new or changed services into production based on their knowledge of the service and customer goals
- Works closely with support teams to define best processes and ensures that the support team is enabled
- Accountable for managing the service portal information, parameters, and characteristics for their services
- Ensures that customers have the right information in the portal and can understand the service they receive in case of a new service or a change
- Assists in service costs and financial models for cloud service offerings, for which they are accountable for the service costs
- Builds the right cost models with the right stakeholders, including finance and customers, and also educates customers on driving a customer's consumption behavior
