Chapter 16
Creating Useful Forms with Document Templates
In This Chapter
Working with existing document templates
Modifying a document template
Making your own document template
Removing and creating the Document Templates folder
Document templates are preformatted documents that you use to create new documents within your project. They’re basically ready-to-go forms. When you create a document based on a template, you’re making a copy of the template, thus preserving the original so that you don’t have to worry about overwriting it.
In Scrivener, project templates in the Fiction category come with document templates, but even if the project you choose doesn’t have any document templates, you can create your own.
Document templates are perfect for creating forms to capture information about characters, settings, automobiles, interviewees, animals, or whatever else you can think of. This chapter covers how to use, edit, and create them.
