The document support panes are like one of those magical expanding bags that holds more than it appears. That row of buttons at the bottom of the Inspector has a surprising number of tricks.
The document support panes let you take notes, create links to reference material, tag items with keywords, create custom metadata, take a snapshot of a document to preserve its current version, and add comments and footnotes.
