Setting up Audio Sources

Setting up Audio Sources previously talked about the Audio Listener being part of the camera, so that is not a component, we need to worry about setting it up. Again no parameters to change. So, in this next section, we will create four Audio Sources to build the ambiance of an arcade for our project.

The Audio Sources will be at four different corners of the space, so we can create a layered soundscape:

  1. In the Hierarchy panel, click on the Create button, click on Audio, and then click on Audio Source:
  1. Rename this Audio Source Layer 1 and change its position information to x = 2, y = 0, and z = 2:

  1. Now, with the Layer 1 object selected and the Hierarchy view active, press the Ctrl + D key three times to create three copies of this layer. Name these new copies Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4.
  2. Set the positions of these new layers according to these positions:
        Layer 2: X= -2, Y = 0, Z = 2
        Layer 3: X = 2, Y = 0, Z = -2
        Layer4: X= - 2, Y = 0, Z = -2
  1. When you are finished, your view should look similar to this:

There should be a camera with four Audio Sources in the shape of a square.

Now, we just need some sounds to fill the space in; that is what we will be handling in the next section.
