Some of the more advanced UI features, such as menu fading and animations, require additional desktop CPU and memory resources. The following steps outline how to disable these effects:
- Right-click on This PC (Windows 8.1 and newer) and click on Properties.
- Click on Advanced system settings to open the System Properties window.
- In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
- Under Performance, click on the Settings button.
- Click on the Adjust for best performance radio button, and then click on OK twice to close the window and update the settings.
