Dimensions are the air of any data model and should be easily accessible to users, as well as defined and relevant. Using master dimensions in a dashboard helps you narrow down the most used and appropriate dimensions and organize them on the left-hand panel for the user, without necessarily having to drop all over dimensions from the data model.
