There are plenty of concepts regarding data loading. Yet one of the most important things we must distinguish between QlikView and Qlik Sense is that Qlik Sense finally introduced a visual and user-friendly way of loading and linking different data sources, which is called Data Manager. This is a massive improvement compared to QlikView, which only allows data loading by writing lines of code. Yes, you have a few wizards but to be honest they are not user-friendly. Although they are developer-friendly, I have never seen a business user celebrating the fact that they could load data using QlikView wizards. Instead, they would usually come to me for help.
I believe Qlik made the right choice in introducing this fantastic concept of a visual data loader and editor. It's not groundbreaking to have a visual interface, but Data Manager's simplicity and the way it associates data can make any technically illiterate user happy.
In the next section, I will describe how to use Data Manager. Nothing boring. Hands-on! We will also go into the details of how to load and optimize data loads. The more you know about scripting, the better. I usually prefer scripting but I love Data Manager too.
