AngularJS is a structural framework for building dynamic web applications in JavaScript. It extends the classic HTML syntax by embedding dynamic angular expressions which update or modify the DOMs based on the code. It's very handy in dynamically binding data in and out of your HTML web page, which is why, for example, Qlik Sense's native straight table has been developed on an Angular basis.
It's a whole different concept to jQuery, which is elaborated further in this chapter.
As with every useful library, AngularJS simplifies application development by presenting a higher level of abstraction of writing code to the developer.
It's difficult to highlight the benefits and advantages of using Angular without becoming too technical but this part of the chapter will attempt to provide you with a basic overview of why AngularJS is used in Qlik Sense and what the key principles and components of the framework are.
