AngularJS takeaways

If you're used to HTML, jQuery, and classic web development, AngularJS approach will seem a bit unusual to you. However, once understood, the library introduces a lot of structure to web development and the benefits of using a framework will pay off. While there are many other popular and, for some use cases, more suitable JavaScript frameworks, such as Vue.js or ReactJS, Qlik Sense itself is built in AngularJS and as such you are unfortunately bound to it if you would like to develop code which is meant to run within Qlik Sense.

For mashups, things are obviously different and in essence a personal choice, but then again, you could just leverage the existing AngularJS framework used in Qlik Sense rather attempting to combine two worlds in your web app. Either way, you should be familiar with the library, what it stands for, and how the basic concepts and principles work. This chapter scratches the surface of how AngularJS works and while further reading is recommended, it is important to be careful with available reading material on the internet and tutorials as they can quickly become very technical.
