Every solution that is in the development stage is in an unmanaged category. The default solution that we discussed earlier is also in an unmanaged stage. We can modify the existing components of the unmanaged solution and can also add new components to it. Let's create an example for our HIMBAP Auto Service Center. We can create a solution in which we can add all of the required out-of-the-box entities, and we can also create any new entities that are required. While exporting the solution, Dynamics 365 CE will ask whether we want to export our solution as a managed or an unmanaged solution. If we select an unmanaged solution, it will export an unmanaged solution using the following name format:

<<SolutionName>> _SolutionVersion.zip

Here, SolutionName is the display name of our solution, and SolutionVersion is the version information of the solution. When an unmanaged solution is imported into an organization, it overwrites any customization done using earlier solutions. We can also create or delete existing components of the unmanaged solution after importing into our Dynamics 365 CE organization. There is no direct way to uninstall an unmanaged solution in a single step, so we have to remove components one by one.
