Conducting end user training

To conduct end user training, we can follow the end user training steps in the following screenshot. This normally starts with understanding users and ends with capturing end user feedback:

Let's discuss these steps in detail:

  1. Understand Users: Before conducting end user training, it is important to understand end users. We should know who we are going to train and what their technical competences are. Do they already know about Dynamics 365 CE or early Dynamics CRM versions? Every organization has different types of users; for example, we may have users who will use new Dynamics 365 CE only for some tasks, such as generating reports and to review customer data, or users who will use Dynamics 365 CE extensively. But it is important to understand that every user needs training and support based on their job profile.
  2. Schedule and Cost: We need to define the training schedule and budget before conducting end user training. While conducting training, we need to make sure all the training sessions are completed within the training schedule. It is also important to share the training schedule with the customer beforehand to make sure they can make all the required arrangements.
  3. Set Training Goal: Before conducting end user training, it is important to set up a training goal first. The main objective of end user training is to increase the efficiency of the end users. While setting up a training goal, we need to keep the end user's needs in mind. For example, for the service department, we may have to set different goals than for the sales department training goals are different.
  1. Select Trainer: End user training should be conducted by a certified Dynamics 365 CE trainer who knows the Dynamics 365 CE application very well. They should be aware of the customer objective for implementing Dynamics 365 CE.
  2. Customized Training: Apart from generic Dynamics 365 CE training, the trainer should prepare customized training for users with sample lab exercises. There may be different users from departments with different roles, so we need to make sure we prepare the training according to all the possible roles in the organization.
  3. Capture Feedback: While conducting training, we should always capture users' feedback. This can be done during training sessions or can be captured once the training is over. It helps us understand user interest in the new Dynamics 365 CE, as well as their experience in the training sessions.

Here, we have discussed the main steps that are required to develop end user training plans. All of the preceding steps are very important, whether it is understanding the end user or capturing feedback after the training. Understanding the users gives us the opportunity to conduct training efficiently based on their requirements, while capturing feedback helps us track the effectiveness of the training. Now, let's discuss some sources for Dynamics 365 CE training.
