RVTools

RVTools is a Windows .NET 4.0 application that uses the Virtual Infrastructure Software Development Kit (VI SDK) to display information about your virtual environments. It's a free application that can run on a server or a Windows client machine and can read information from all versions of VMware vSphere platform, from Virtual Infrastructure 3.x through vSphere 6.5 versions.

It is possible to list information about VMs, CPU, memory, disks, partitions, network, floppy drives, CD drives, snapshots, VMware tools, resource pools, clusters, ESXi hosts, HBAs, NICs, switches, ports, distributed switches, distributed ports, service consoles, VM kernels, datastores, multipath info, license info, and health checks.

The health check part may require a little tuning (for example, by default, the number of VMs per datastore is just 16, which is reasonable for old VMware infrastructure, but no more with vSphere 5 or later):

The main pros of RVTools are that it is free, has a minimal installation, and supports all versions of vSphere. More importantly, it's able to export all that data in Excel or CVS formats.
