In order to monitor vDS and analyze its network traffic, it's possible to use NetFlow for monitoring your vDS. For example, vRealize Network Insight (vRNI) acts as a NetFlow collector, but there are also other possible products and solutions. NetFlow configuration is really easy; you have to only configure the IP address of the NetFlow collector, as in the following example:
